The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday July 26, 2026 at the Palliative Care Unit, Community Hospital O’Leary of Erma Arlene Ellis (nee Grigg), aged 86. Beloved wife of the late Burton Ellis. Erma was born in Port Hill on August 25, 1939, daughter of the late Graydon and Greta (MacLennan) Grigg.

Cherished mother to the late Steven (Kathy), Tyne Valley; Susan (Michael) Newcombe, Port Hill; Scott (Crissy), Tyne Valley; Shawn (Kristina), Northam and Stacey (William) Bishop, Tyne Valley.

Loving grandmother of Andrew, Evan (Laura), Joellyn (Jean Marc), Kent, Kyle (Kelsey), Tiffany, Logan (Kelsey), Madison (Jordan), Ashley (Briar), Nicholas (Sabrina), Chloe (Riley), Hollie (Jacob) and Brody. Great grandmother to 16 Great grandchildren.

Erma is also survived by her sister Jean Grigg, Summerside; sister-in-law to Rosalie Grigg, Rowena Grigg and Muriel Grigg.

Predeceased by her parents, husband Burton Ellis (February 9, 2010), son Steven (February 4, 2023) brothers Winston and Ernest Grigg, brothers and sisters in law Edgar (Margo) Ellis, Elwell Grigg and mother and father-in-law Hazel & George Ellis.

Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, with visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Tyne Valley United Church Cemetery.
