The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday June 28, 2026 at Stewart Memorial Home, Tyne Valley of Margaret "Jean" MacArthur (nee Rayner), of Tyne Valley, aged 97. Beloved wife of the late Eldon MacArthur. Jean was born in Alberton on October 19, 1928 daughter of the late Marshall and Dorothy (Gordon) Rayner.

Loving mother to Donald. Dear grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Sister to Grace (Tom) Palmer, Eva (Harold) MacDonald. Brother and Sisters in law to Faye Rayner, Barbara Rayner, Priscilla (Ira) Strongman and Shirley MacArthur.

Jean is also survived by daughters in law Kathy and Karen.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, husband Eldon MacArthur, son Douglas (October 6, 2019), brothers and sisters Eldon, John, Jessie Rayner, Joyce Baglole and Elizabeth Rayner. Brothers in law Ronald, Clifford and sister in law Joan.

Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home, Tyne Valley with private burial with invitation only by family request.
