The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Garden Home, Charlottetwn on Monday, May 25, 2015 of James Howard Thomas, aged 93 years, formerly of O’Leary. Born on March 20, 1922, in Cascumpec, son of the late John and Jennie (Rayner) Thomas.
Dear father to Rhonda (Adair) Shaw, Cascumpec and Shelley (Grant) Canfield, Clyde River. Loving grandfather to Samantha (Jamie) Veniot, Unionvale; Blayre (Josh) Caplan, Cornwall; Ben (Laura) Canfield, Victoria, B.C; Hannah (Colin) Burnett, Burlington, ON and Josiah Canfield, Burlington, ON. and to great grandchildren Vivienne, Simon and Isaiah Caplan.
James is survived by brothers Harry (Grace) Thomas and Ellsworth (Leila) Thomas and sisters in law Audrey Leard, O’Leary and Marion Darrach, Charlottetown.
Predeceased by his parents, first wife Doris Leard Thomas, second wife Julia Douglas Thomas.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours on Thursday, May 28th from 7-9p.m.
Funeral will be held on Friday in the Chapel 1:00p.m. Interment will follow in Cascumpec United Cemetery.
