The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family, at
Western Hospital, Alberton on Thursday, October 23, 2014 of Henry
"Atwood" Dunville of Alberton, Veteran of WWII, Sgt. of the
Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, aged 93 years. Born on April 13, 1921
in West Cape, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Helen
(MacDonald) Dumville.
Loving father to Kevin (Virginia), Alberton; Step father to
Rick (Gwen) Hardy, Mill River; Dianne (Brad) Hall, Ottawa, ON; and
Donna (Kevin) Rochford, Alberton. Beloved grampy to Matthew (Pam),
Minto, N.B ; Jennifer (R.J) Gavin, Hunter River; David, Toronto, ON ;
great grandfather to Anastasia, Eva, Aaralyn and 9 step grandchildren
and 1 great grandchild.
Atwood is also survived by sisters Fairley (Alvin) Yeo,
Knutsford; Audrey (Blair) Thompson, O’Leary; brothers and
sisters in law Bessie Dumville, Charlottetown; Thelma Dumville,
O'Leary; Jean Dumville, Charlottetown; Gertrude Taylor, ON;
Arthur (Phyllis) Travers, Alberton and Helen Travers,
Charlottetown.
Atwood was predeceased by his parents,1st wife Evelyn (2004),
2nd wife Betty (2011),
brothers and sisters Alice, Charles, Stanley, Edsel, Jessie, Eva, Boyd
and John Leigh in infancy and sister in law Georgie
Dumville.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Chapel, O’Leary with
visiting hours on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 6-9 p.m.only. Funeral
will be held on Wednesday October 29, 2014 at 11:00am in the chapel.
Interment to follow in Bethel United Church Cemetery. Comrades of the
Royal Canadian Legion, O’Leary branch # 2 will hold a
service of remembrance for their late comrade at the funeral home on
Tuesday evening at 5:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, in memory of Atwood, memorials to Bethel
United Church Cemetery would be appreciated.
