Peacefully at the Stewart Memorial Home, Tyne Valley,  surrounded by family, the death occurred on Friday, September 12, 2014 of Rodney Dimock Spidle, formerly of Summerside, age 91, husband of the late Mary Ellen (Broderick). Born in Melvern Square, N.S. on October 30, 1922, son of the late Jacob Neil and Alma Nealy (Hatt) Spidle.

Loving father to Peter (Linda), New Minas, N.S.; Gordon (Audrey), Berwick, N.S. and Margaret Sark, Lennox Island. Special Grampie to Tiffany, Tammy (Craig) Arsenault, Michelle (Reggie) McLean, Tylor (Robyn) Sark, Bradley (Anna) Spidle, Megan Spidle and great grandchildren Drake, Kassie, Jake, Luke, Cole, Maggie, Julia, Denver, Nolan, Keaton, Thatcher and Macayla who were all his pride and joy.

He is also survived by sisters in law Barbara Spidle, Wilmot, NS; Edna Spidle, Digby, NS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents, wife (1999), son in law John Jacob Sark, grandchildren Kevin Spidle and twins in infancy Rodney and Shirley Sark, sister Edna (Wilfred Nash), brothers Earle and Roger.

Family and friends are invited to the Rodd Mill River Resort  on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 3pm, for a time of sharing memories and celebrating Rodney's life. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square, Nova Scotia on Saturday, November 2, 2014 at 2pm. 

In memory of Rodney, memorials to the Stewart Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
