On Saturday, May 12th,  Wilfred peacefully passed away surrounded by family love.  At the age of 92, Wilfred lived a good long life with his loving and committed wife of 67 years, Bessie (Wright) Campbell.

Born in Mount Pleasant in 1926 to the late Ernest Campbell and Alice (Adams) Campbell.

Cherished father to Keith (Esther) Campbell, Frances (Rick), Lucy Campbell, Ernest (Mary) Campbell, Norman (Mary) Campbell, James (Inez) Campbell, Ruby Campbell, Rev. Rachel Campbell (Jeremy MacWilliams).

Wilfred loved all his children and grandchildren greatly.  He was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren plus he was thrilled to have a new grandchild on the way this July.  His family lineage continues to grow with the blessing of great grandchildren. Wilfred had 12 great grandchildren and is survived by his sister Ruby (Leigh) Clarke.

His love of farming, horses, harness racing, chev’s, the Conservative Party, and family were very much a theme throughout his life.  Wilfred enjoyed family visiting each summer and took great pride in where he was from. Wilfred instilled a wonderful work ethic in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Many will remember Wilfred as a good neighbour who would help anytime anyone needed it.

Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, sons, Kenneth and Robert, brothers, Ivan, Austin, Sterling, Alfred, sisters, Laura Yeo, Lucy Yeo and Sarah Barrett.

A special thank you to the staff of Maplewood Manor in Alberton where Wilfred resided for the last few years of his life.  Their care and support of Wilfred, Bessie and the family is greatly appreciated.  Also, deep appreciation and thanks to Rev. Ches Boutilier (Victoria West United Church) for his faith filled guidance in this difficult time and the professionalism and care of the Ferguson Funeral Home.

Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral to be held at the Victoria West United Church on Wednesday, May 16th at 11:00 am, with Rev. Ches Boutilier officiating. Interment in the Peoples Cemetery,
