Following a brief illness, Shirley passed away peacefully, with her loving family at her side, at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the 90th year. Shirley was born in O'Leary on April 20, 1928, daughter of the late Dot Stanley and Mae Louise (MacLennan) Gorrill.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Thiren and her children Betty (Carter Hutt) and Denton (Sylvia).
Shirley dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren Devan (Natalie) Hutt; Kirby (Lorna) Hutt; Parker (Kyla) Ellis and Paige Ellis.
She was also blessed with 6 great grand children Harrison, Oliver, Kara and Damen Hutt and Liam and Lena Ellis.
Dear sister to Glenn MacNevin, sister in law to Aubrey (Myrna) Ellis, Jesse Ellis and Greta Ellis.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents and daughter Paula in infancy.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary with visiting hours on Friday 4-7 p.m. Funeral on Saturday in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Springfield West Baptist Cemetery.
