Surrounded by his loving family and faithful companion Buddy at the Palliative Care Unit , O’Leary Community Hospital, of Rev. Vernon "Vern" Robie Marsh of Knutsford on Friday, December 18th, 2015, aged 72 years, beloved husband of Sue (Lalonde). Born in Halifax, N.S. on October 28, 1943.
Loving father to Michael (Shaun), Lac la Biche, AB; Marty (Julie Milligan), Charlottetown; Matthew (Lesley), Summerside and Lindy (Kimberly), Amherst, N.S. Dear grandfather to 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
Vern is also survived by his mother Rose (Leo) Gay, Stewiacke, N.S; brothers and sisters Barbie (Ray) Patterson, Lake Charlotte, N.S.; Darrell (Laurie) Marsh, B.C.; Kelly Marsh (Scott), Dartmouth, N.S. and Cindy (Russell)Hahn, Stewiacke, N.S. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law Wendy (Joseph) Anderson, Dunstaffnage; Allyson-Anne Hayes, Sylvan Lake, AB; Sandy (Holly) Carruthers, Mount Albion; Norma (Kevin) Trainer, Cornwall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Russell Marsh and Vivian Falls, mother and father in law Allison and Tryphosia (MacDonald) Carruthers, sister in law Laverne Drake and brother in law Gordon Carruthers.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 6-8p.m. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at the O’Leary Church of the Nazarene at 11:00a.m. Interment at a later date.
No flowers by personal request and in memory of Vern, memorials to O’Leary Community Health Foundation, Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
