Ferguson's Montague Funeral Home Fergusons of Montague Serve PEI's Scenic Southeast Nestled in the heart of the rich landscape of Prince Edward Island's scenic southeast region is the rapidly growing town of Montague.
Montague is the hub town of southeastern King and Queens Counties and is located on the banks of the Montague River. There's a trading area of about fifteen thousand, several craft shops and a pleasant relaxation area round the old station in the center of town on the river bank. This is also the starting point of the Montague to Robertson's Road sections of the Confederation Trails project. It is to this beautiful setting that Garth Ferguson came, purchasing the Parker Hamilton Funeral Home November 1, 1985. The Son of Douglas and Georgina Ferguson of O'Leary, Garth came from a family of six children: five boys and one girl, and he the second eldest.
He was just twenty-six years of age when he took on the responsibility of a funeral home in Montague, but his youthfulness was augmented by a desire to succeed and a commitment to always do the best for the families he served. His diligence and hard work has been rewarded. The funeral home consisted of thirty-three hundred and thirty square feet at the time of purchase. He added eleven hundred square feet in 1986; thirty-six hundred square feet in 1995 for a total of more than twelve thousand square feet today.
Prominent, yet dignified, the Ferguson Funeral Home is a respected and integral part of the Montague community. Employees include Craig Bryanton (1987), Philip Steele (2004), and Alma Beck (2006).
